In January 2011, Unit E members (nurses and health care professionals in the state of Maryland) voted on a contract which included provisions for "fair share." Fair share means that everyone who benefits from the state contract will share in the cost of implementation and enforcement of that contract. This document explains the procedures of how fair share works. It does not include the actual audits which are available in the mailing, and by calling AFT Healthcare Maryland at 443-435-4078. While fair share means that every unit member is contributing to the costs of representation, this is a good time to become a member of our union and have a real voice in what happens in your work place.
