Febuary 14th may only be Valentine's Day for most people, but for Maryland state employees Valentine's Day 2011 will be remembered as a beginning of a new era. With the stroke of the pen, the governor acknowledges the worth and sacifices that state employees have had to endure for the past four years. He recognizes that the state can not continue to use their workers as the main source of cuts to balance the budget.
